I was having a sort out of our garage and came across some 15 mm grey polybutylene barrier pipe for water supplies probably from Screwfix. I noted that it appeared to be quite whippy so I cut off an 800 mm piece and tried whacking my bum with it, blimey it stung! You can buy this for £35 for 25 metres working out at just over £1 a cane. You can also get it in 10 mm if you want to experiment with a thinner stingier cane. Now to find a willing victim to try it on.
